“Holding On” brand new Disclousure single.
Earlier this month, Disclosure released the new single “Bang That” wich was the first proper new Disclosure song in two years. But it wasn’t the first official single from the follow-up to 2013’s smash debut album Settle. Disclosure have shared a new song called “Holding On”, with vocals from the Grammy-winning jazz singer Gregory Porter. It premiered today on Annie Mac’s show on BBC Radio 1. “Holding On” will be released on July 17 via PMR/Island. Lawrence brothers revealed that they and Porter originally wrote the song as a ballad before essentially remixing their own song to come up with this uptempo two-step garage track. It’s a soulful love song a la Disclosure’s signature single “Latch,” but rather than massive rippling synth pulses, it’s undergirded by one of the brisk, hiccuping beats that have become Disclosure’s bread and butter. Disclosure previously promised that the new LP, like its predecessor, would feature a generous list of guest collaborators; if “Holding On” is any indication of the star power to come, it sounds like fans are in for a doozy.
